At the 26'th of may 2006, with an Event called "DSB-døgnet", the Danish state Railways offered extremely cheap all-day tickets for all of Denmark for only 50 kroner (Approx. 6,50 Euro!). The ticket was valid for an unlimited use of all DSB-trains for 24 Hours! This offer was used by very many people, with stuffed trains and delays as a natural consequence ;-) I mainly used the day for going to the Danish Railway Museum in Odense. The Nohab/GM loco MY 1112 is preserved in the red/black livery, opened up in one side, to display the engine.

DSB MY class #1106 waits on one of the garden tracks of the Esbjerg
roundhouse in February, 1987. The MX and MY are my favorite european
locomotives, since they're essentially EMD F-7's with two cabs and
A-1-A trucks.

DSB litra MY. These locomotives are derived from the american F7
design and built by NOHAB in Sweden. They first entered service
in 1954. Shown here in latest black/red livery, which was introduced
around 1976. Before that they were painted 'DSB-brown'. Almost all
of these locomotives have now been withdrawn. One has been preserved
and painted in its original livery.
Norway, Belgium, Luxemburg and Hungary all have/had similar locomotives.

DSB MY 1153. A strange episode at Hellerup, 1/5/1981. A push-pull-train with a MZ at the back broke down, and the next train, with MY1153 at the back, has to push both trains.

Nowadays it's a rare view: an MY with passenger train. Some of the series
are still used sometimes for freights, but the days of the whole series
are counted. This special train was hauled by MY1158 (Britta) between Fredericia
and Grenå on 12th June 2000.

Randers GM day 15.5.99
Photo taken by stephen kerry (thirstyfarmer@msn.com) |

This was one of the locos we were really hoping to see. On our arrival at Uppsala just the one was in the yard
with what appeared to be an MZ but when we returned a second Nohab had arrived on the scene, making
a possible total of 3 ex-DSB locos in the area. However we managed to get this view of one of the Nohabs from our
returning Intercity train to Stockholm. The date was 16th April 2004.
