Class 9000 Preferente-class (Open room) car (A12t-9000) of RENFE-GL, seen idle in Vigo.
This car belongs to the very first order for Class 9000 cars (1980). It is mounted on Fiat 80-SL bogies, a broad-gauge version for the Y-0270S. This car offers a very substandard kind of 1st-class accommodation: 2+2 seating, seat pitch in the region of 800mm and no video system at all. This all may account for the survival of old 1st-class labels, and the lack of "Preferente" branding... Vigo. April 2004.
