Class 9000 Turista-class (Open-room) car (B10t-9300) of RENFE-GL, seen on Diurno 413/2 "Iberia" (Irún--->Salamanca).

This car is mounted on Fiat 80SL bogies (broad-gauge version for the Y-0270S) rather than on CAF-GC1 (broad-gauge version for the Y-32).
It is thence part of the very first batch of Class 9000 cars (1981/1982). As such, it was delivered as a B11t-9200, and rebuilt into a B10t-9300 only at a later stage.

These cars were originally built as B11t-9200 in 1983/1984. In the early-90s, they got a light refurbishment with a video system, while legroom was increased through the removal of 8 seats (which led to their renumbering as B10t-9300), so as to run on Diurno "Torre del Oro" and later "García Lorca" (Barcelona <-> Sevilla/Málaga/Granada/Almería/Badajoz) until its conversion to Arco on 27th January 2002.

Since then, this fleet has been running on Diurno services connecting the Basque Country (Irún/Bilbao) with the West (Salamanca/Vigo/A Coruna).

In 2005, this car went through a light overhaul, with an ambience pretty close to that of Class 2000 (B10t-2200 and BR3t-2800) Arco cars.

Seats and ambience are very close to those of Mainline Class 448 EMUs.

Facing-seats. As most seats have reversible backs so as to face direction of travel, facing-seats are located at one end of the open-room area.

Airline-style seating. Whereas B10t arrangement guarantees a decent seat-pitch, those reversible backs tend to pre-empt some legroom, though...
