Gauge changer of Lérida/Lleida, seen on the Iberic-gauge side (1668mm-5ft6in; 3kV DC), looking towards the HSL, Lerida, Zaragoza and Madrid. This gauge-changer is used by Altaria services running between Barcelona and Madrid or Zaragoza. This Iberic-gauge Class 252 has been hauling a Talgo 7 set from Barcelona-Sants. It is now heading towards the siding left of the gauge-changer, where it will stay until the Talgo 7 set (off-pic) has passed on Standard-gauge tracks. There is also a Standard-gauge siding (terminating with a big buffer) right of the gauge-changer, used by standard-gauge locos the other way round. Lleida (East). 08th May 2004.
