Refurbished Class 448 (448R) of RENFE-Regionales, seen on Catalunya Expres 5072 (Figueres--->Barcelona Sants), at its final destination. Prior to arrival, the public address system had played a very comprehensive pre-recorded announcement, in Castilian and Catalan, for 50sec. Original seats have remained, but refurbishment has brought ambience in line with Regionales standards. Preferente accommodation and the Cafeteria area have gone, unsurprisingly. Class 448 EMU of RENFE-GL, used on IC 203 (Madrid-Chamartin-->Hendaye, via Valladolid). Preferente class (54 seats, between the cab and a small Bar-area), with: • 2+2 seating, as on any pre-Alaris Mainline EMU of RENFE (432 and 444). • fixed Seats (no-steering), unlike Talgo (any kind), AVE-104, S-120, A9t-9100 and AR7t-9750. This counter may look basic, but it features the same cafeteria offer as any other daytime RENFE-GL service where Wagons-Lits España operates (Euromed, Alaris, Altaria, radial Talgo, Arco).
