Bilbao Atxuri station is to be abandoned when the tram line (now ending in front of Atxuri station) is extended to Bolueta in the suburbs with a connection to the city metro system.

The main station of EuskoTren in San Sebastian is Donostia-Amara. From here long distance trains operate to Bilbao and Hendaye(F), along with regional services.

Railway station Zumaia, located between Bilbao and San Sebastian. From here a railway used to run towards Zumarraga (FSZZ) which also passed Azpeitia where the Basque Railway Museum is located. Today you have to take a bus to reach Azpeitia.

Nothwithstanding the barrier, the SNCF/RFF station building of Hendaye is well in evidence there.
One can also notice that Hendaye is advertised in Basque only, as "Hendaia", which is not so common North to the border...

The side-sign (in Castilian only) "Comienzo F.A" warns against the activation of the ATP system ("Frenado Automático) of Eusko Tren from there.

The signs against trespassers "Ez Pasaiu-No Pasar" are conversely in Basque and Castilian, yet not in French...

This is the very first/last station of Eusko Tren in Spanish territory.

In pre-Schengen days, border checks on Eusko Tren services were carried out there (rather than in Hendaye, surprisingly). Passengers would alight at one end of the platform, then go through Immigration and Customs checks within that building. Thereafter, they would get back to the platform, yet at the opposite end, where the empty trainset had moved meanwhile...

These times are now over: the building is closed, and this station is a mere unstaffed stop.

All cars parked there on that morning had French licence plates: very few people actually live on the Spanish side there, while parking is virtually free, unlike in Hendaye...
