2nd-class UIC-Y Couchettes-car (Bc9x), seen in the consist of Corail Service Nuit 4678/9 "Léman-Côte Basque" (Hendaye--->Genève Cornavin, with through-cars to Nice-Ville).
This pic was made 1 min ahead of departure. At that stage, all Corail cars had already had their doors closed (through central closing). Conversely, the platform attendant was still to close the door remaining open on that UIC-Y car. Hendaye (Hendaia) (French sector). 2003.

Unexpected encounter in Strasburg on EC 295 "Jean Monnet" (Bruxelles Midi/Brussel Zuid ---> Bâle SNCF, running as TER 96195 from Strasburg):
2nd-class UIC-Y Couchettes-car (Bc9x) of SNCF, added to the original 3-car SNCB/NMBS formation during that 27-min stop, and due to run empty until Mulhouse or Basle... Strasbourg. 21st March 2007.

2nd-class UIC-Y Couchettes car of SNCF (Bc9x) seen on the Train Rapide/Expreso "Puerta del Sol" Paris-Madrid, upon arrival in Madrid-Chamartin.
These cars were mounted on Pennsylvania bogies in Spain/Portugal, and on Y16Lms bogies in France. These were built in the early-70s specifically to cater for passengers travelling with cheap tickets sold by Wasteels (i.e. BIGE and BIGT) on Franco-Iberic sleepers, hence their particular livery. 30th September 1984.
