As one can see on this pic, this dual-mode unit is to use electric-propulsion (1.5kV). Yet, clearance expires at Ax-les-Thermes, as power supply further South is not commensurate with BGCs requirements, especially as this area features very steep gradients (40%o-1 in 25). It is the first dual power (electric/diesel) AGC officially delivered to SNCF, numbered X-75501/2. A meeting was organized with the historic electric loco CC 7102, to remind that 50 years ago, on february 21st 1954, a similar locomotive (CC 7121) broke the world speed record, reaching 243 km/h near Beaune.
