EMU Z2N 22546, another photo of the driving cab. This time, we're braking to stop on this station. The station is crowded, people are watching our EMU slowing down and seem to be very interested.
Please notice also a short third rail in the middle of the track. This is an antenna which sends image from the station's cameras to the train, so that the driver can watch on his monitors what happens outside. Using these monitors, he can close the doors himself, without help of another person.

SNCF_22500_z1a.jpg (109035 bytes)

Interior of a Class 22500 "MI-2N" EMU of SNCF-IdF (RER-E).

Upper deck: this is 1 of the 2 "Regional" areas, which jointly amount to 4/5 of that deck.

Only accessible from the adjacent end-vestibule, not from the middle-vestibule, hence the closed end in the background.

1st July 2007.

SNCF_22500_z3a.jpg (91379 bytes)

Interior of a Class 22500 "MI-2N" EMU of SNCF-IdF (RER-E).

Middle-vestibule (i.e. 1 of the 3 "Urban areas"), seen from the Upper deck (i.e. 1 of the 2 "Regional" areas).

No direct access: one has first to walk down the stairs to the adjacent end-vestibule, then cross the seating-area (i.e. 1 of the 2 "Suburban areas") on the Lower deck underneath.

1st July 2007.

SNCF_22500_z5a.jpg (92427 bytes)

Interior of a Class 22500 "MI-2N" EMU of SNCF-IdF (RER-E).

Middle-vestibule (i.e. 1 of the 3 "Urban areas").

One can guess the Upper deck (i.e. 1 of the 2 "Regional" areas), not accessible from this vestibule, and also spot the seating-area (i.e. 1 of the 2 "Suburban areas") on the Lower deck underneath.

1st July 2007.
