SNCF - France The meter gauge track of the Ligne de Cerdagne (for the "Petit Train Jaune") is electrified with 3rd rail. Near road crossings the 3rd rail is somewhat protected by wood. Latour-de-Carol, 08/07/2002

Three different gauges can be observed at La Tour de Carol, border station between France and Spain. The train on the left is a Renfe service for Barcelona (1672mm), in the middle further back a TER waits for departure for Toulouse (1435mm) and to your right the Train Jaune / Tren Groc (Yellow Train) uses 1000mm gauge and a third rail for power supply on the mountainous route to Font Romeu and Villefranche de Conflent where it connects to the line to Perpignan.
