Diesel motor car X301 of the Chemins de fer de la Provence at its end station Digne. For the 151km it took 3 hours and 19 minutes (of beautiful scenery!). The SNCF standard gauge line that runs to Digne is out-of-use.

Two SY series autorails meet at La Tinee along the Var River in France. This station is interesting in that there is no town or village near by which makes one wonder why there is a station here. Not far from here is the confluence of another river with the Var which has many villages along it. This is the closest flat spot big enough for a station. As can be seen from the picture the walls of the gorge are quite steep.

X302 is one of the rebuilt SY series autorails. It is show in Digne with one of the converted Billard trailers used for hauling small packages.

One of the older SY rail cars, after rebuilding, on a beautiful winter day in the Alps. As they have been rebuilt these auto rail have been renumbered from SY0? to X30?
