fr-de_Apach-Perl_a1.jpg (70998 bytes)

L37.7 (Thionville-Apach Frontière), seen very close to the French-German border.

One can already spot those DB side-signs (blue-white), which warn against the voltage change-over (25kV 50Hz AC---> 15kV 16 2/3 Hz AC).

fr-de_Apach-Perl_b1.jpg (60220 bytes)

L37.7 (Thionville-Apach Frontière), seen very close to the French-German border.

Beyond those DB side-signs (blue-white), which warn against the voltage change-over (25kV 50Hz AC---> 15kV 16 2/3 Hz AC), one can already spot the very first DB catenary mast, beyond that level-crossing.

fr-de_Apach-Perl_c1.jpg (96097 bytes)

L37.7 (Thionville-Apach Frontière), seen very close to the French-German border.

At this stage, the line still runs in France, but side-signs are unambiguous about the border nearby:

• Top: DB signs, warning against the forthcoming voltage change-over (25kV 50Hz AC---> 15kV 16 2/3 Hz AC);
• Bottom: SNCF sign "Signalisation DB", warning against the immediate rule-book/signalling change-over (SNCF/RFF---> DB Netz).

fr-de_Apach-Perl_d1.jpg (69142 bytes)

L37.7 (Thionville-Apach Frontière), seen very close to the French-German border.

The very first DB catenary mast is already well in sight, accross this little-used level-crossing.

fr-de_Apach-Perl_f1.jpg (67400 bytes)

L37.7 (Thionville-Apach Frontière), seen very close to the French-German border, looking towards Apach.

The very few Z6300 EMUs connecting Thionville with Apach actually reverse here. The French manual-block sign (BMU) looks rather outdated...

fr-de_Apach-Perl_g1.jpg (54727 bytes)

L37.7 (Thionville-Apach Frontière), seen at its very end, looking towards the French-German border, which one can guess by looking at the transition in catenary masts...

There we are: L37.7 (Thionville-Apach Frontière), seen at the French-German border, marked with that mile post between both tracks.

Perl station is located just accross that bridge in the background.

There we are: L37.7 (Thionville-Apach Frontière), seen at the French-German border.

At this stage, the line already runs into German territory, while the voltage change-over from French 25kV 50Hz AC to German 15kV 16 2/3 Hz is well in sight...
