Hendaye_cambiador_3.jpg (65331 bytes)

Interiors of the bogie-changing yard of Hendaye, seen from the Spanish sector, looking towards the French sector where one can spot an idle USI car...

It was used from 1968 to 1996 in revenue operation to change bogies on Franco-Iberic through cars (mainly couchettes). In the good old days, it would accommodate up to some 60 cars each way on a daily basis...

This facility was designed so as to accommodate 4 UIC-X cars at the same time, using this dual-gauge single-track.
