Midi No. 312 "Adour", built 1856 by Emil Kessler (later PO-Midi 032-308).
Length 11.40 m, weight 60.95 t. Following the design by Wilhelm von
Engerth (Austria), it originally had a system driving the tender axles,
though this was unreliable and removed later on. Nevertheless, the locomotive
had a very long life. It could reach 60 km/h and was useful on mountain
lines in southern France.
