Further 180 locomotives were built by North British and 20 by Nasmyth, as the French industry couldn't deliver after the start of the first world war. SNCF numbered them 140 C and retired them 1971, though some locomotives were rented to the CFTA and remained in service until 1975 near Troyes and Gray.
