Sncf 241 P 7 -Mountain type- is filling its water tank - Moret 1968 Moret-(Veneux)les-Sablons was the junction between the electrified classic line Paris Dijon Lyon, and the non electrified branch from Moret to Nevers and Clermont-Ferrand. Though the way from Paris to Moret is rather short, less than 100 km, a hauling change took place there. It gave the opportunity to catch sided locs, steam, diesel and electric, waiting for their next duty. Nonetheless, Moret was not a workshop or a shed. It is much different today. Long range trains for Dijon Lyon and Marseilles are TGV that use the high speed line, and the branch for Clermont is electrified and operated by Sybic locs and Teoz coaches, with a speed limit of 200 km/h. There is no more hauling change in Moret. Photo JP HAMEAU prepared by Patrick Meunier Pmeunier23@aol.com www.pixyrail.com
