Mk2 BSO (Brake Standard Open) car seen at London Euston, awaiting departure to the Far North, on the Scotrail Caledonian Sleeper London-Aberdeen/Inverness/Fort William.
These cars were rebuilt in 2000 from normal daytime cars, so as to offer budget seated-accommodation on Anglo-Scotish Sleepers.
They have a brake/service compartment (off-pic, on the left). BSO Brake is primarily used on the steep Highland lines to Fort William and Inverness.
