One of the mark 2 coaches in Arriva Trains Wales livery top and tailed by Class 50 diesel locomotive 50049 <i>Defiance</i> and Class 37 diesel locomotive 37425 <i>Pride of the Valleys</i>, both in BR Large Logo livery.

The train was one of two operating shuttle services between Newport and Cardiff Central to cater for the extra demand generated by the Rugby Union <i>Heineken Cup</i> final between Munster and Biarritz at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.
