Farewell to Mk2s and Mk3s on Virgin West Coast.

Interiors of a Mk3 First-Class car (FO) of Virgin West Coast, seen at London-Euston, awaiting departure to Birmingham and Wolverhampton.

Fairly old-fashioned, but well-kept and comfortable. The last refurbishment took place in 1997-98, shortly after Virgin took over the Intercity West Coast franchise.

Pendolini 390s are currently replacing these cars, which date back to the mid-80s.
