30 June 2001, GNER train in Waverley, UK
Facing seat arrangement inside a 2nd class coach of a GNER 225 train.
One can clearly see that the seats do not align with the windows, for
capacity reasons five seats are crammed into the length of two
window frames.
As the free distance between the back rests of the airline style
seats is 65cm in the middle of the seat and reduces to 58cm on the
side between the back rest and the hinges for the folding table,
these groups of four seats with a table
are the only chance for a person with legs longer than average
to find a seat with sufficient legspace in this coach.
