Pullman Coach 'Phoenix' is appropriately named as it was rebuilt following a fire in 1936. A First Class Parlour Car of 26 seats it was built originally by Metropolitan Cammell in 1927. It was the favourite coach of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, carried various Heads of State including General de Gaulle before being retired from the Golden Arrow in 1972. It then amazingly became a stationary restaurant in Lyon France before being acquired in 1980 and eventually returning as part of the VSOE. Pictured in the Summer of 2002 at Stratford E.London.
