A completely fluke sideways study of the Mirrlees Type I at Peterborough station. On 15 March 1999 at 11.08 this locomotive hauled 12 EWS wagons from the nearby yard through the station, and was travelling at around 10mph when those two photographs were taken at very close range, from platform 4. The locomotive was later stopped by a signal within the station, by which time a northbound GNER train had arrived, making photography impossible. The colour offset was caused by the scanner: when placed side by side, the two halves of the locomotive matched up. Whilst it was a total fluke that it worked, this is useful because it gives an idea of the length of the locomotive. Photograph by Alex Lu (lexcie@innocent.com, http://www.lexcie.zetnet.co.uk/)
