OLD LOCOS STILL GOING STRONG AFTER ALL THESE YEARS.
Some locos that still see main line use in 2008 first took to the rails in the late 1950s or early 1960s making them 40 to 50 years old. Quite remarkable considering they are were designed in a very different era.
37059 that first entered service in 1962 as D6759 is one of the early members of the class that still sees regular main line use. Now a DRS loco she is seen here on a SERCO Test Train at Ockendon on May 1st 2008. On the front is another 'old timer' 37038.
