37261 is a rare visitor to the London area. Privately owned by West Coast Trains it is seen here at Southall having just brought down the Flying Scotsman's support coach from Carnforth. 37152 ( with 92001 and 37165 ) at Crewe Station on Saturday 17th April 1999 at 9:00am Approx.. The Three loco's were all powered up with the 37 Power the ETH etc and the 92 towing them train to Carlisle. Ian Riley's 37197 speeds the 'Cathedrals Express' through Cheshunt on its way to Ely. Having not seen this class 37 before last week we are pleased it has now turned up again! The loco actually came south from Crewe early this morning to take this train having been called in following the temporary steam ban. Fragonsets 33202 is on the back and will return the train to London in the evening. The date is 26th August 2003. This loco is privately owned by Ian Riley Engineering and is the only one to carry this livery. We cannot recall 37197 visiting the south east before so to be in the right place to picture it on its run down from Crewe to Alton is fortunate. In fact as I write it is returning north again!
