Looking over Old Oak Common Depot Large Logo Celebrity Loco 47635 can clearly be seen. Although withdrawn from traffic almost 2 years ago we understand the loco is well looked after, kept in running order and used as a shunter within the confines of the depot. Naturally we would prefer to see it out on the main line but at least it is not just rusting away like the rest of EWS class 47s. A test train top-n-tailed by a pair of Network Rail 31s can also be seen in the picture which was taken on the 21st January 2006.

The star of the show for many was EWS's last remaining 'original' class 47 that was re-painted especially into what is many enthusiasts favourite 'Large Logo' livery. 47635 has spent a number of its working years in Scotland so not only has it been adorned with the 'Highland Stag' emblem but was also named 'The Lass of O'Ballochmyle.

47635 'Lass O'Ballochmyle' in its new Large Logo livery will certainly become one to see out on the mainline. So much to the delight of enthusiasts EWS were not being exactly truthful when they recently denied such a re-paint was about to take place.

This is probably one of the more unusual 'train' pictures! 47635 BEFORE it is revealed to the crowd of waiting enthusiasts.

47635 is a loco you do not get tired of seeing. Having just returned north we were not expecting it to appear on this move with two class 325 Royal Mail units and 90033 in tow. Although the trip down from Crewe is all under wires and both the unit and class 90 could operate off them, it is diesel hauled throughout...not as if we were complaining though. The place is a slightly snowy South Kenton and the date 29th January 2004.

This loco is a top drawer attraction for British rail enthusiasts since being re-painted into the popular Large Logo Blue Livery for Doncaster Works Open Weekend 2003. 47635 or 'The Lass' as she is refered to in reports is seen here at Pudding Mill Bow E.London in early January 2004 about to depart with the Plasmor return empties to Peterborough...a rare turn for a class 47. Since this picture was taken 47635 has been withdrawn from traffic as part of the EWS run down of its class 47 fleet. We hear it may have a secure future in preservation...would prefer to see it out on the main line though!
