A class 47 on an Anglia service! Well it does not happen that often but you can if you are really lucky still have diesel loco haulage on an express passenger train...but only on 'ONE' Norwich workings. Here we see Cotswold Rail's 47828 'Joe Strummer' on the 1230 Norwich to Liverpool Street making its stop at Stratford. Not only that but 47818 was on the back in this unusual top-n-tailed formatioin which is quite often employed on charter trains but rarely seen on a regular passenger service. And the date of this spot of excitement...the 4th October 2006. Making a very pleasing sight at the stops at London's Liverpool Street station is Cotswold Rail's 47828 alongside 90002. 47818 is on the front about leave on the 1500 service to Norwich...and the date October 4th 2006. A rare event this now...an opportunity to travel behind a class 47 on a scheduled passenger working. Cotswold Rail's 47813 'John Peel' is on the front of the 10.30 Liverpool Street to Norwich ONE Anglia service on the 14th December 2005...which conveniently stopped at Stratford enabling me climb on and enjoy a ride on a 'real' train!
