'Summer Drags' take place on Saturdays from July-Sept when some Liverpool Street to Norwich services are extended to Great Yarmouth. The absence of wires requires the addition of a diesel for the run from Norwich to the seaside. The is the first year DRS have had the contract and here we see 47501 'Craftsman' having arrived at Great Yarmouth on the 22nd August 2009 with 90006 in tow. 47501 has run round its train at Great Yarmouth and will shortly depart on the return trip to Norwich where 90006 will take over for the run to London. The date is the 22nd August 2009. Here is another class 47 survivor...now DRS owned and previously named 'Craftsman' 47501. Class 47s seemed at one stage to have a rather uncertain future with DRS but recently they have seen more activity on route learning and workings like this Stoneblower move to Broxbourne. They now occasionally also make their way to the London area instead of operating mostly in the NW. Looking smart and well worth the wait in less than ideal weather the loco is seen speeding through Bushey on the 20th April 2006.
