Another view of 47565 'Responsive' as it stands in Slateford station,
Edinburgh on Saturday 3rd Oct 1998.
Once a familiar sight all over Scotland, especially on this route before
electrification as they were the regular motive power for hauling
trains from Edinburgh, which ran down the WCML, as far as Carstairs where
the 47 would come off and an electric locomotive would then haul the
train forward. They are now, despite being well over 200+ still in regular
service, now very scarce in Scotland escpecially on this line. So the chance
of seeing & photgraphing a Class 47 on this route was very welcome indeed
despite being sick of the sight of them passing this location many years
ago.
