The ultimate accolade for the class 47s is that for a number of years two of them
47798 'Prince William'...seen here at Crewe Open Weekend in 2003...and 47799 'Prince Henry'
were designated 'Royal' locos specifically for use with the Royal Train. During the last 
few years they have however turned up all kinds of other duties...passenger, freight, mail and even on engineering trains.
They were both withdrawn from service in January 2004, but at least one we believe will be 
displayed later in the year at an event at York.
