RES 47, 47733 <B> 'Eastern Star' </B> sitting at the far side of platform 10/11 at Edinburgh Waverley with the engine running. Right after this, EWS  37 37426 unexpectedly growled into the station and stopped just in front. After a long pause in which the EWS folks got out of the train and then hastily back in again the 37 ear-splittingly reversed back the way it had came to arrive a few minutes later on the adjacent line. During this, 2 158 dmus, a '225', and finally a view blocking GNER 125 all passed the 47 by. It was still waiting when I left. 7/10/02
