In charge of this London to Norwich train is 47714 looking very smart with all matching stock and 86 on the back. The place is Ely and the date August 20th 2004. We plan to hopefully enjoy one of these 125 mile + non-stop runs behind this loco.

Now this is how we like to see locos! This was actually a positioning move for Cotswold Rail's 47714 that resulted in it taking charge of a Tilbury to Lawley Street liner on July 19th 2005. It is seen clagging up nicely whilst running through Crouch Hill with that old survivor 47303 behind, running but not we think working the train. This is the first reported freight working of this ex Scottish pusher in Anglia livery ...so a big thank you to the man at the controls for giving the loco a little 'thrash' at just the right moment.

We made it to Norwich behind the 'Green Beast' Cotswold Rail's 47714 on August 31st 2004 where the loco is pictured. Departing London Liverpool Street at 11.47 it was an enjoyable if leisurely run arriving at 14.40 about 5 down due to signal problems at the start and a slight change of route.

47714 is seen here at Norwich on August 31st having brought in the 11.47 from London. With Ipswich Tunnel about to re-open these class 47 loco hauled trains have now come to an end but to their credit 47714, 47813 and 47818 have not to our knowledge suffered a single on line failure during the 8 week period of providing 'ONE' London to Norwich non-stop services.

Now when did you last see the front of a class 47 looking quite like this? A 'soapy' 47714 rests at the stops in Norwich on August 31st 2004.

Cotswold Rails 47714 has been turned out in matching Anglia livery and was captured here on we think its first Norwich to London run on the 24th October 2003 at Stratford.
