FM Rail have revived the Blue Pullman of the 60s with their new luxury train. Top and tailed by matching class 47s it is seen here in fading light on its return to Kings Cross at Grange Park on its first main line run. 47709 is we think the leading loco with 47712 on the rear...the date is the 12th January 2006.

cx-47712-bp-kx-jp.jpg (103171 bytes)

Herfordshire Rail Tours now part of FM Rail are making regular use of this smart new train based on the Blue Pullman of the 1960s...no examples of which have been preserved. Complete with a somewhat wonky headboard 47712 is soon to depart from London Kings Cross on February 18th 2006.

w.47702-trainload-22jp.jpg (91060 bytes)

This loco 47702 'County of Suffolk' is of interest as we think it was the only 47 '7' to painted into Trainload Grey...the red nameplate also is quite unusual. It is seen here at Wandsworth Road S.London in August 1998. Not long after this it was painted into Virgin colours and operated on Cross Country services for a year or so before withdrawal.
