Mainline cement train waiting for the right of way in Ely station, having just joined the mainline to Peterborough from a branch.
An interesting story comes with this photograph: The 'Networker' aboard which I travelled to Ely ran alongside this 58 for almost half a mile prior to the station stop, and overtook each other a couple times before finally arriving in the station, during which my seat happened to flash past the driver's window a couple times. Sitting in the seat opposite was a group of four A-level girls intending to do psychology at university, however it was most fascinating for me to observe their actions and draw conclusions about their psycology as they gestured the driver aboard the 58, who duly responded with a blast on the horn of his locomotive. As I photographed the 58, the driver decided to photograph me photographing the 58...
