Now things really are getting bad when even the numbers of the last BR designed British built main line diesel
loco dating only from 1989 are being reduced either due to lack of suitable work or parts.
There is even the prospect 'we hear' of them being re-engined with a GM power plant...what next! 
The original 100 strong fleet is now down to about 75 and is quite likely to see further reductions.
