For a train that first started to appear in the mid-1970s the High Speed Train or HST is now well over 25 years old but still looks the part in 2003. Noisey and at times a little smokey they travel at speeds of up to 125 MPH. This GNER example is just starting out on a journey to northern Scotland, a distance of over 500 miles. Pictured at Alexandra Palace shortly after departing from London Kings Cross on the 30th October 2003.
