Looking east from the about half way between the concourse building and and western end of platform 2 at Gloucester station, about level with the signal.<br>
The Central Trains Class 170 DMU on the left is at platform 4. The First Great Western HST is at platform 2 and gives an indication of just how long the platform is - there is room for at least a two-car DMU between the front of the HST and the end of the platform behind the camera (although the signal location would need changing), and  platform 1, which is a continuation of the same platform face, is also long enoguh for a complete HST set. I know of no other station that can accomodate two HSTs end-to-end, let alone with room to spare!
