Virgin Crosscountry 43 158 at the front of the Cornishman stopping at Durham on 12 April 2000. 43 098 was at the north end of the southbound train, whilst 43 158 was at the front. The rake is rare because it was in full Virgin Colours. Most Virgin HSTs run with at least one 'Intercity' livered power cars. Virgin is the only TOC still with the old Intercity-livered power units.
