This is 'Daisy' although not officially named as such, but known as by British rail enthusiasts. Her full number is 101 685 but this unit is very much a Celebrity class 101 DMU. Not only is she painted into the Heritage Green that these units carried in the 1950s & 60s, but she is also the oldest unit running on the network going back to 1957, making her 46 years old. These Metro-Cammell units have developed quite a following in their twilight years and can still be seen today running in and out of Manchester Victoria for First North Western. This picture was taken at the delightfully situated station of Rose Hill in June 2002 shortly before starting her return journey. Naturally 'Jampics' were onboard to enjoy the nostalgic sounds and characteristics of these Leyland engined units from years gone by.
