Trans Pennine Express Class 158/9 DMU 158975 waits at Newcaslte Central Station at the start of a service to Manchester Picadilly. The top half of the golden <i>N</i> at the far end of this car shows that the Trans Pennine Express livery consists of just a blue vinyl "skirt" applied directly over the maroon livery of former operator Nothern Spirit.
