On Wednesday 30th June 1999 while accelerating away from a signal check
at Slateford, Edinburgh, the 6U06 Ravenstruther - Drax coal (M.G.R)
train hauled by 60043 suffered a coupling break between the 31st & 32nd
wagons leaving the last 5 wagons fouling the main line into Edinburgh
and causing disruption to services into Edinburgh.
One of two services to be signalled into Edinburgh 'Wrong Line' was
Virgin Train's 1S45, 06:02 Manchester Airport - Edinburgh service which
was worked by 158749. With the 5 detached coal wagons visible in the
background, 158749 (57749+52749) is seen running 'Wrong Line' as it
passes over the viaduct on the approach to Slateford station at 11:19.
