National Coal Board North Durham Area No.88 (Thomas Hill 135c, built 1964) shunts at Derwenthaugh sidings in November 1970.  
This loco was rebuilt from Sentinel steam loco 9584, originally built 1955- the previous Derwenthaugh No.88.  It was scrapped in 1981.
