03179 'Clive' stands at Hornsey depot, London on Sat 12th June 1999. This shunter, along with 03079, was latterly used on the Isle of Wight and upon both being offered for sale by Island Line Trains, both found new homes. While 03079 was snapped up for preservation, the need for a shunting locomotive at Hornsey to shunt stock around resulted in WAGN buying 03179 thus keeping the class in active service with a main line rail operator.
