A class 47 and 73 are a very unusual combination. Fragonsets 73107 'Spitfire' was only first seen the previous week and although not apparently powering the train is only the second Fragonset one to appear in the same livery as train loco 47355 'Avocet'. They are seen taking away old Southern Region units that are no longer required for departmental duties at Brondesbury Park on the 9th September 2004. A word of thanks must go to the driver of a Silverlink Metro service to Richmond which came to a halt alongside us just as this one-off train was approaching! Kindly he ensured that we able to picture the locos passing thereby narrowly avoiding the train photographers worst nightmare!
