81002-e3003.jpg (127163 bytes)

Britain’s earliest extent AC electric locomotive, the E3003, later the 81 002, seen here in the shed at Barrow Hill Railway Centre. The locomotive is owned by members of and maintained by the AC Locomotive Group. For more information on this locomotive, please refer to my TOPS early electric pages, or contact the Group’s secretary, Owen Hodgson. Funds and labour are urgently needed to restore this historic locomotive to working order ~ subscription to the AC Loco Group is one of the best ways to help.
