Direct Rail Services ordered ten locomotives mechanically related to class 68 from Vossloh (ex Alstom, ex Macosa, today Stadler). These belong to the UKDual family. Their power is 4000 kW in electric and 708 kW in diesel mode, maximum speed 161 km/h. As they can pull trains on lines without electrification, they could be considered to be somewhere between electro-diesel locomotives and electric locomotives with last mile module.
