Farewell to Eurostars on the Old Boat Train Route...
London-bound Eurostar seen at Dollands Moor, on the transitional tracks between Eurotunnel and Network Rail domains.
This set has just lowered its pantograph and already uses the 750V live rail.
One can see the remnants of the old Continental Junction between Eurotunnel and Network Rail (ex-Railtrack) tracks, which was removed an relocated to a more suitable place in September 2002, closer to Saltwood tunnel, in order to avoid any flat crossing between CTRL and the Old Boat Trains Route.
Since 28th September 2003, this has been history, as London-bound Eurostar services use CTRL, whose "up" track is visible on the right, further away.
