These units are still out and about quite a bit in Edinburgh, so I guess it’s no news that I’ve got a photograph of them. But, it is some news that I have got a photo the first and the second units lined up nicely like this! The class is used exclusively for the short commuter run between Edinburgh and North Berwick, and can be seen hanging around in Edinburgh Waverley station quite a bit, though they are usually randomly parked so photos of them lined up is quite difficult to get. It’s somewhat strange that Scotrail keeps about ten of these... I think their existing hourly service between here and North Berwick could probably be diagrammed with just two, and maybe one on standby. Most of the units are non-refurbished and don’t have paranomic windows like these, though one or two do. Note the differing position of the Scotrail logo on the front, and the lack of a TOPS data panel on 305 002.
