Arrivals at Platform 4 of Haymarket station from North Berwick must then proceed ECS to just before Slateford station, where the next electrictied cross over is located, so it can cross over and gain access to platform 3 at Haymarket for the return service to North Berwick. Having ran ECS from Haymarket, 305517 stands at Slateford on Tue 30th Mar 1999 while awaiting passage of an Edinburgh bound Virgin Trains service before it can proceed over the crossover.
