These units were specifically reliveried and refurbished in 2000 for Stansted Express services. Previously, such services had been fitted with Class 322s now operated by Scotrail on Edinburgh-Berwick.
<p>
Standard Class has been fitted with Chapman seats, as on so many other Commuter/Regional units.
<p>
Although seats are mainly arranged in 2+2, there is still some 2+3 seating in Class 317s of Stansted Express.
