A 1985 ex Ayrshire train, 318 256 North Berwick flyer seen approaching Rutherglen, Lanarkshire on Sunday 12th September 2004. The 318s were transferred on to the Argyll line in May 2001 as the 334s were finally in service and as the 303s were gradually coming off the tracks. However you see 334s on this line because there are only 21 318 units and there are only 22 320 units for North Clyde Glasgow Queen Street line which is why the 40 334s were split 20 for Ayrshire lines and 20 for Argyll and North Clyde via Queen Street. Well worked out in my opinion. Photo David Cuthbertson email davidcuthbertson@msn.com
